Located in between San Antonio’s Town and Bay, this ‘sunset venue’ is what you would expect when the two cultures collide. The Mediterranean influence is one of cocktails, vibrancy and chilled out Balearic beats. When amalgamated with the extremely relaxed way of life that is synonymous with the Dutch then the end result is one of San Antonio’s coolest bars.
Hammocks adorn the trees, colourful lounge areas line the terrace, and there is even room for a small artificial beach accompanied by its very own cocktail beach bar. Café de Tulp is one of those places where individuals or groups come to hang out and chill during the day and then later return at sunset for the slightly more up-tempo music and very reasonable cocktails. Also on offer is a range of typical beach food.
Café de Tulp attracts both tourists and local workers off the adjoining beach in their numbers. With some of the cheapest prices around and natural welcoming manner of the staff, this comes as no surprise. Every night of the week there is a live DJ set from 21:00 until 24:00, with the bar itself being open from 12:00 until 04:00.
