Sylvie Bader

Sylvie, born in France, has been passionate about yoga for over 20 years and compares her style of yoga to prayer, due to the stillness & silence of the experience. Sylvie practices restorative yoga, keeping the body young and healthy with the use of props such as belts, blocks, chairs and rope. The props encourage endurance and allow the student to concentrate on weaknesses while holding their positions for longer. This therapeutic style of yoga, known as Lyengar, is one of the most popular types of Hatha yoga and has been known to treat a wide variety of symptoms associated with back problems, auto immune disorders and heart & lung ailments. Over the years, Sylvie has trained with Sharat Arora (who has worked with BKS Iyengar for many years)

gaining knowledge in the art of alignment, restorative postures and the healing power of the yoga practice. Sylvie certainly does have a style of her own and says her method is 'challenging in classic Hatha Yoga Hat postures with a focus on alertness as well as relaxing in the restorative practice'.
